Frequently asked questions.
What do I need for my session? I’m Nervous!
First, don’t be nervous! I was a beginner (aka a baby deer) once too! For your sessions you will need:
Heels
Get used to your new feet! Heels are STRONGLY recommended for your first session & all sessions following. Heels change how the poses look & feel so it’s important to use them as much a possible during our sessions & when you practice. I recommend getting your stage heels ASAP so you can get used to them. If you don’t have them by the time of our first session, no sweat; wear any heels you have. If you don’t own any heels, two feet will do ;)
Bikini
A posing suit, competition suit or any bathing suit works! This allows me to best see your shape & lines (latter of which is important when you get close to your show date). If you’re not comfortable wearing a suit a sport bra & shorts or leggings/tank top works as well.
Phone
What you’ll use to conduct our session. Some ladies like to use an iPad or computer for a bigger screen.
Tripod
The most ideal height to have your phone during our session is between your knee & hip height. Best lightning is in front of a window…aka stand with the light shining on you. You can also lean your phone/device on a windowsill.
How are sessions conducted?
If you have an iPhone I will FaceTime you at the time of your session. Please do not FaceTime me as I often have a sessions back to back & this may interrupt a session with another client. If' I’m running a few minutes behind, hang tight! I’m usually pretty good about letting you know via text if I am. If you don’t have an iPhone we will use Zoom; I will send you a link for the meeting at the time of your session.
I’m not sure what heels to get. Do you have an recommendations?
Any of The Shoe Fairy heels are amazing! Use code AGFIT to save some $$ ;)
The Olympian heels have very comfortable insoles & plastic.
If you’re not used to wearing heels or don’t feel super comfortable in them, I recommend getting a shorter heel (4.5 inch) & a taller platform…aka less arch/tilt to your foot. Unfortunately the Shoe Fairy has retired the Foxy & the Roxy but you can find the same heel on Amazon! See the link at the top left of the page.
Straps or no straps, that is the question… totally your preference! I prefer straps because I don’t want to even be remotely worried that my heels will slip off my feet. Some gals like the ease of being able to slip on their heels without buckling so no straps or slip straps are for them.
Why do I see girls practicing posing in socks & heels? What’s the deal?
LOL. This does serve a purpose but girls do it for wayyyyy too long. When you first get your heels, the plastic will be stiff & they will likely be a little snug. I recommend putting on fuzzy socks & walking around the house in your heels to stretch them out a bit. You can also take a hair dryer & warm the plastic up to help mold to your feet. With that said, unless its the first week you get your heels, I DO NOT recommend practicing while wearing the socks. You won’t be wearing socks on stage so the sooner you get used to not wearing socks, the better ;)
